Why is an RDW inspection required for an import car?
When importing cars from outside the EU, a full technical inspection by the RDW is always required. This applies to vehicles from countries such as:
- USA
- Canada
- China
- Dubai
- Japan
Without this inspection, the vehicle cannot be registered in the Netherlands and therefore cannot be driven on the road.

What does the RDW check during an import inspection?
The RDW assesses whether the vehicle meets Dutch admission requirements. They check, among other things:
- Vehicle identification (chassis number and documents)
- Technical condition: brakes, lighting, tires, etc.
- Emission and noise standards
- Presence of type approval or equivalent data
If your import car does not meet the requirements, we will take care of the necessary adjustments in our workshop.

3. RDW import inspection
As an accredited RDW inspection station, you can simply come to us in Roosendaal for both TÜV and RDW inspections of your import vehicle. There’s no need to make a separate appointment or transport your car.
