RDW

The Road Transport Directorate (RDW) is the institution responsible for the registration of motor vehicles in the Netherlands. As the regulatory authority for motor vehicles, the RDW falls under the Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment.Beetle

After the vehicle has been cleared through customs by Marlog Car Handling, you must register the car and settle the motor vehicle tax (BPM) with the RDW. Once you have paid BPM to the tax department, you will receive your Dutch vehicle registration certificate from the RDW.

The following documents are required to complete BPM formalities on imports:

  • Your vehicle
  • BPM declaration form (download from tax department website)
  • Proof of provenance of the vehicle (foreign vehicle registration certificate)
  • The Single Administrative Document
